21. The Influence of Moisture, Temperature, Pressure Pulse and Substrate on Print Quality in Flexographic Printing
Sammanfattning : Flexographic printing is a common printing method for package printing. It is primarily the flexible printing plate and the low viscosity inks that characterizes flexographic printing, and make it possible to print on a variety of substrates. One drawback of flexographic printing has been limited print quality. LÄS MER
22. Where did the ink go? : The effect of liquid absorption on ink distribution in flexography
Sammanfattning : The appearance of a print is affected by the individual ink layers. If the ink is unevenly distributed on the substrate it lowers the quality. This thesis puts focus on how the liquid absorbency of a coated substrate impacts on the ink distribution in flexographic printing. LÄS MER
23. Absorption non-uniformity characterisation and its impact on flexographic ink distribution of coated packaging boards
Sammanfattning : There are high demands on flexographic print quality to be sufficiently high and consistent in order to create a competitive packaging. At the same time the production efficiency need to be high. Printers thus need to achieve the same quality every time and quickly start-up new printing jobs. LÄS MER
24. Live Streaming in P2P and Hybrid P2P-Cloud Environments for the Open Internet
Sammanfattning : Peer-to-Peer (P2P) live media streaming is an emerging technology that reduces the barrier to stream live events over the Internet. However, providing a high quality media stream using P2P overlay networks is challenging and gives raise to a number of issues: (i) how to guarantee quality of the service (QoS) in the presence of dynamism, (ii) how to incentivize nodes to participate in media distribution, (iii) how to avoid bottlenecks in the overlay, and (iv) how to deal with nodes that reside behind Network Address Translators gateways (NATs). 25. Extending Opera - Artist-led Explorations in Operatic Practice through Interactivity and Electronics
Sammanfattning : How can we re-empower opera singers, extending their control over accompaniment and vocal expressivity? To answer this question, I have opened a novel design space, Extending Opera, consisting of interactive artist–operated tools to be used on-stage. The research has its methodological groundings in Research through Design (RtD) and Research through the Arts (RttA). LÄS MER
