21. Microstructural Characterization of Expanded Austenite in 304L and 904L Austenitic Stainless Steels
Sammanfattning : Austenitic stainless steels are among the most used materials in modern industry, mainly because of their superior corrosion resistance. However, low hardness and poor tribological properties often restrict their applicability. LÄS MER
22. The relation between microstructure and mechanical properties of cobalt- and nickel-rich Co-Ti-C and Ni-Ti-C alloys
Sammanfattning : Age-hardening processes up to l000°c which might be important in the binder phase of the Co-Ti-C and Ni-Ti-Chard metal systems have been studied mainly by high voltage electron microscopy, (HVEM), optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as by micro-and macrohardness measurements and tensile testing at room and elevated temperatures (500°-800°). In addition, the allotropic transformation of cobalt has been followed by X-ray diffraction in order to permit a more complete interpretation of the changes in microstructure reflected in the mechanical testing. 23. Properties of Al-Mg Alloys and Vacancies in Al: a First-Principles Investigation
Sammanfattning : Phase transformations such as precipitation are used to control the strength of many technologically important aluminum alloys. In precipitation hardening, the material is heat treated and aged to produce precipitates, small particles of a different phase, in the matrix. LÄS MER
24. Low-temperature carburizing/nitriding of austenitic stainless steels - Influence of alloy composition on microstructure and properties
Sammanfattning : Austenitic stainless steels are among the most used materials in applications where corrosion resistance is important, as the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas industries. However, low hardness and poor tribological properties is often an obstacle for their applicability. LÄS MER
25. Creep modeling and first-principles investigation of high-temperature alloys
Sammanfattning : Stainless steels and nickel-based superalloys are materials that have been widely used to manufacture components servicing at high temperatures. Creep strength is one of the most important properties in such conditions. LÄS MER
