    Sammanfattning : Throughout the last century, medical imaging has come to revolutionise the way we diagnose disease, and is today an indispensable part of virtually any clinical practice. In cardiovascular care imaging is extensively utilised, and the development of novel techniques promises refined diagnostic abilities: ultrasound elastography allows for constitutive tissue assessment, 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables full-field flow mapping, and micro-Computed Tomography (CT) permits high-resolution imaging at pre-clinical level. 2. 2. SPECT Imaging using Pinhole Collimation : System Design and Simulation Studies for Pre-Clinical and Clinical Imaging

    Författare :Mikael Peterson; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pinhole SPECT tomography; Nuclear medicine imaging; Monte Carlo-based image reconstruction;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this dissertation is the use of pinhole collimation in Nuclear Medicine. A pinhole is a single aperture in an opaque material that is placed between the detector and source of interest, and photons must pass through the hole to reach the detector. The choices of pinhole parameters, e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of [18F]flutemetamol binding properties : A β-amyloid PET imaging ligand

    Författare :Kerstin Heurling; Mark Lubberink; Jens Sörensen; Julie Price; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Positron emission tomography PET ; molecular imaging; amyloid; tracer validation; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The criteria for diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) have recently been revised to include the use of biomarkers for the in vivo presence of β-amyloid, one of the neuropathological hallmarks of AD. Examples of such biomarkers are positron emission tomography (PET) β-amyloid specific ligands, including [18F]flutemetamol. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Preclinical Molecular Imaging using Multi-Isotope Digital Autoradiography - Techniques and Applications

    Författare :Anders Örbom; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Autoradiography; Radioimmunotherapy; Antibodies; Molecular Imaging; Multi-Radionuclide Imaging; Silicon-strip detector;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular imaging, both in vivo and ex vivo, is playing an increasingly important role in preclinical medical research. When using radionuclide-labeled tracers, e.g. in the development of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging or for radionuclide therapy, quantitative in vivo imaging can be performed using emission tomography. 5. 5. Model-based Approaches to Diffuse Optical Imaging and Dosimetry

    Författare :Johan Axelsson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photodynamic therapy; diffuse light propagation; fluorescence; imaging; dosimetry; inverse problem;

    Sammanfattning : The work within this thesis investigates Photodynamic therapy and Fluorescence imaging for therapeutics and visualization of deeply embedded lesions. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a cancer treatment modality that can eradicate tumors when light, a photosensible drug and oxygen are present. LÄS MER
