1. Experimental results from the Lysekil Wave Power Research Site
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents how experimental results, from wave power research performed offshore at the Lysekil research site, were obtained. The data were used to verify theoretical models as well as evaluate the feasibility of wave power as a future sustainable energy source. LÄS MER
2. High-Speed Vision and Force Feedback for Motion-Controlled Industrial Manipulators
Sammanfattning : Over the last decades, both force sensors and cameras have emerged as useful sensors for different applications in robotics. This thesis considers a number of dynamic visual tracking and control problems, as well as the integration of these techniques with contact force control. LÄS MER
3. Floating-Point Analog-to-Digital Converter
Sammanfattning : To deal with the wide dynamic rage necessary for a radio receiver or corresponding applications, but to avoid impractically high resolution at high data rates, the approach of using a floating-point analog-to-digital converter (FP-ADC) has been investigated. This approach de-links the dynamic range with the resolution, and a very wide dynamic range can be achieved by an ADC with a moderate resolution. LÄS MER
4. Temporal Distance and Morality : Moral Concerns Loom Larger in the Distant Future
Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation was to examine whether the temporal distance of moral events affects the moral judgments and decisions people make in response to those events. Drawing upon Construal Level Theory (CLT; Trope & Liberman, 2003) which posits that the distant future is represented at a higher, more abstract level of mental construal than the near future, and that high-level mental construals shift attention to core values and higher-order principles, the main proposition of this dissertation was that people would show greater moral concerns in response to distant future events than near future events. 5. Rethinking designing : collaborative probing of work and workplace change
Sammanfattning : The objective of the research presented in this thesis was to explore human experiences as ground for work and workplace design. The aim was to develop pragmatic tools and guidelines for work and workplace design based on a reflective design tradition. LÄS MER
