1. Cooling Strategies for Wave Power Conversion Systems
Sammanfattning : The Division for Electricity of Uppsala University is developing a wave power concept. The energy of the ocean waves is harvested with wave energy converters, consisting of one buoy and one linear generator. The units are connected in a submerged substation. The mechanical design is kept as simple as possible to ensure reliability. LÄS MER
2. Differential Protection for Arbitrary Three-Phase Power Transformers
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes how to provide standardized, current based, differential protection for any three-phase power transformer, including phase-shifting transformers with variable phase angle shift and transformers of all construction types and internal on-load tap-changer configurations. The use of standard transformer differential protection for such applications is considered impossible in the protective relaying standards and practices currently applied. LÄS MER
3. Dynamic Plate and Shell Equations Using Power Series Expansions - Applications Including Elasticity, Poroelasticity and Fluid Loading
Sammanfattning : Thin structures are used in a wide range of engineering applications. The subject of this thesis is the derivation of approximate equations for the dynamics of thin plates and shells using series expansion methods. LÄS MER
4. Dynamic Anisotropic and Piezoelectric Plate Equations - A Power Series Approach with Recursion Relations among the Expansion Functions
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is dynamics of plates. Both anisotropic elastic plates, piezoelectric plates, thin piezoelectric layers on elastic plates and elastic laminates are considered. Piezoelectric materials are often used in sensors and actuators and common applications for these are vibration control and ultrasonic transducers. LÄS MER
5. Thin Film Plate Acoustic Resonators for Frequency Control and Sensing Applications
Sammanfattning : The recent development of the commercially viable thin film electro-acoustic technology has triggered a growing interest in the research of plate guided wave or Lamb wave components owing to their unique characteristics. In the present thesis i) an experimental study of the thin film plate resonators (FPAR) performance operating on the lowest symmetrical Lamb wave (S0) propagating in highly textured AlN membranes versus a variety of design parameters has been performed.
