  1. 1. Cooling Strategies for Wave Power Conversion Systems

    Författare :Antoine Baudoin; Cecilia Boström; Anne Blavette; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wave power; power conversion system; thermal management; power elctronics; passive cooling; natural convection.;

    Sammanfattning : The Division for Electricity of Uppsala University is developing a wave power concept. The energy of the ocean waves is harvested with wave energy converters, consisting of one buoy and one linear generator. The units are connected in a submerged substation. The mechanical design is kept as simple as possible to ensure reliability. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Differential Protection for Arbitrary Three-Phase Power Transformers

    Författare :Zoran Gajic; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electric power systems; power transformers; differential protection; power system protection;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes how to provide standardized, current based, differential protection for any three-phase power transformer, including phase-shifting transformers with variable phase angle shift and transformers of all construction types and internal on-load tap-changer configurations. The use of standard transformer differential protection for such applications is considered impossible in the protective relaying standards and practices currently applied. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Dynamic Plate and Shell Equations Using Power Series Expansions - Applications Including Elasticity, Poroelasticity and Fluid Loading

    Författare :Anders Hägglund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; approximate boundary conditions; series expansion; Biot equations; vibrations; cylindrical shell; dispersion curves; plate theory; thin shells; porous plate;

    Sammanfattning : Thin structures are used in a wide range of engineering applications. The subject of this thesis is the derivation of approximate equations for the dynamics of thin plates and shells using series expansion methods. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dynamic Anisotropic and Piezoelectric Plate Equations - A Power Series Approach with Recursion Relations among the Expansion Functions

    Författare :Karl Mauritsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Piezoelectricity; Plate equations; Anisotropy; Plates; Recursion relations; Power series expansions; Thin layers; Hamilton s principle; Laminates;

    Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is dynamics of plates. Both anisotropic elastic plates, piezoelectric plates, thin piezoelectric layers on elastic plates and elastic laminates are considered. Piezoelectric materials are often used in sensors and actuators and common applications for these are vibration control and ultrasonic transducers. LÄS MER

    Författare :Lilia Arapan; Ventsislav Yantchev; Ilja Katardjiev; Enrique Iborra; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electro-Acoustics; FPAR; Lamb waves; aluminium nitride; interdigital transducer; phase noise; temperature compensation; power handling; sensitivity; zero group velocity; intermode coupling; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrosystemteknik; Engineering Science with specialization in Microsystems Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The recent development of the commercially viable thin film electro-acoustic technology has triggered a growing interest in the research of plate guided wave or Lamb wave components owing to their unique characteristics. In the present thesis i) an experimental study of the thin film plate resonators (FPAR) performance operating on the lowest symmetrical Lamb wave (S0) propagating in highly textured AlN membranes versus a variety of design parameters has been performed.
