  1. 1. Augmentation of vital organ blood flow during experimental cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Rolf Gedeborg; [1999]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Cardiac arrest; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; epinephrine; high-dose epinephrine; buffer; cerebral blood flow; post-resuscitation period; aortic occlusion; Kirurgi; MEDICINE Surgery; MEDICIN Kirurgi; anestesiologi; Anaesthesiology;

    Sammanfattning : Clinical outcome from cardiac arrest remains poor. If the time from arrest to restoration of spontaneous circulation can be shortened and resuscitation techniques improved so that higher blood flow and oxygen delivery to vital organs is achieved, it is possible that the outcome from cardiac arrest could improve. 2. 2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Pharmacological Interventions for Augmentation of Cerebral Blood Flow

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Jakob Johansson; Sten Rubertsson; Rolf Gedeborg; Sven-Erik Gisvold; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anaesthesiology and intensive care; Adrenaline epinephrine ; Cardiac arrest; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation; Cerebral blood flow; Guidelines; Post-resuscitation period; Vasopressin; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; MEDICINE Surgery Anaesthetics and intensive care; MEDICIN Kirurgi Anestesiologi och intensivvård;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiac arrest results in immediate interruption of blood flow. The primary goal of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is to re-establish blood flow and hence oxygen delivery to the vital organs. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Experimental cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation : A study of cerebral perfusion with special reference to the postresuscitation disturbances

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Ala Nozari; [2000]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Cardiac arrest; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; cerebral blood flow; post-resuscitation period; epinephrine; vasopressin; aortic occlusion; isoprostane; Kirurgi; MEDICINE Surgery; MEDICIN Kirurgi; Anestesiologi; Anaesthesiology;

    Sammanfattning : Ischemic neuronal injury continues to be a major delimiting factor in achieving successful clinical outcomesafter resuscitation from cardiac arrest. In this thesis, a pig model of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) wasused to address the effects of different interventions on cerebral blood flow and oxygenation during CPR and theinitial postresuscitation period. 4. 4. Cardiac arrest outside and inside hospital from a 30 year perspective in the Municipality of Gothenburg

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac arrest; heart arrest; mechanical chest compression; prognosis; out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; in-hospital cardiac arrest; Utstein; outcome; DNAR;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: 1:To describe the epidemiology of both out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) in the Municipality of Gothenburg. 2:To describe the differences and similarities in cardiac arrest inside and outside hospital. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Post-Cardiac Arrest Care Therapeutic Hypothermia, Patient Outcomes and Relatives’ Experiences

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Ing-Marie Larsson; Sten Rubertsson; Marja-Leena Kristofferzon; Jo Kramer-Johansen; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac arrest; therapeutic hypothermia; prognostication; outcome; quality of life; relatives; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the thesis was to study post-resuscitation care of cardiac arrest (CA) patients with a focus on therapeutic hypothermia treatment, outcomes up to six months post-CA and relatives’ experiences during the hospital stay.In Paper I, the aim was to asses effectiveness of hypothermia treatment with cold, 4°C, intravenous crystalloid infusion combined with ice packs.
