  1. 1. Generation of Ultrashort Pulses – From Femtoseconds to Attoseconds

    Författare :Maite Louisy; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :Attosecond; Femtosecond; Ultrashort laser pulses; Ultrafast optics; High-order harmonic generation; extreme ultraviolet; Post-compression; Hollow-core capillary; d-scan; Optical gating; Fysicumarkivet A:2017:Louisy;

    Sammanfattning : Electronic dynamics takes place on the attosecond timescale and can thus only be studied using a tool with attosecond temporal resolution. High harmonic generation (HHG) provides coherent attosecond pulses in the extreme ultraviolet spectral region. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Attosecond Optical and Electronic Wave Packets

    Författare :Per Johnsson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optik; acoustics; optics; Electromagnetism; Ionization Dynamics; Electron Wave Packet Interferometry; Electron Wave Packet Control; Pulse Characterization; High-Order Harmonics; Attosecond Pulse Trains; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; akustik; Elektromagnetism;

    Sammanfattning : When a low-frequency laser pulse is focused to a high intensity in a gas, the electric field of the laser may become comparable to, or even exceed, the electric field between the electrons and the nucleus in the atom. Under such conditions, through a process known as high-order harmonic generation, bursts of extreme ultraviolet radiation may be emitted, with durations in the attosecond domain (1 as = 10^{-18} s), which is the time-scale of electronic processes. 3. 3. Generation, characterization and application of infrared few-cycle light pulses

    Författare :Ivan Sytcevich; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Few-cycle pulses; pulse characterization; optical parametric amplification; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Sytcevich;

    Sammanfattning : In recent decades, laser systems emitting pulses of light containing only a few electric field oscillations under their envelope have become common in many ultrafast optics laboratories. Owing to unique temporal characteristics and achieving extreme field strengths, these so-called few-cycle pulses have been instrumental in unlocking new regimes of light-matter interaction. 4. 4. Selective Comminution Applied to Mineral Processing of Critical Metals

    Författare :Lorena Guldris Leon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; selective comminution; compressive crushing; analytical method; minerals; critical metals; elements.;

    Sammanfattning : The outstanding properties of tungsten and tantalum make them valuable metals and, in some cases, irreplaceable in applications. Due to the vital economic importance and limited supply, growing interest places these metals on the critical metals risk list. LÄS MER
