21. Process modeling of liquid composite molding processes
Sammanfattning : The polymer matrix composites (PMCs) are carving out a niche amid the keen market competition to replace the other material counterparts, e.g., metals. Due to the low weight and the corrosion resistance, the PMCs are wildly utilized from aerospace to automobile industries, both in the sectors of civilian and defense. LÄS MER
22. Structured Carbon-Alkaline Earth Metal Halides Composites for Ammonia Storage
Sammanfattning : NOx (NO, NO2) is one of the most harmful air-pollutants from exhaust, resulting in series of environmental problems as well as severe healthy issues for human beings. Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is a common approach to eliminate NOx onboard by using ammonia as a reductant. LÄS MER
23. Characterization of some natural and synthetic materials with silicate structures
Sammanfattning : The present thesis deals with characterization of silicate structures with a determined morphology and structure such as ordered mesoporous silica and layered silicates. Mesoporous silica groups are amorphous solids exhibiting highly ordered pore structures with narrow pore size distributions and large surface areas. LÄS MER
24. Porous Materials from Cellulose Nanofibrils
Sammanfattning : In the first part of this work a novel type of low-density, sponge-like material for the separation of mixtures of oil and water has been prepared by vapour deposition of hydrophobic tri-chloro-silanes on ultra-porous cellulose nanofibril (CNF) aerogels. To achieve this, a highly porous (>99%) robust CNF aerogel with high structural flexibility is first formed by freeze-drying an aqueous suspension of the CNFs. LÄS MER
25. Heteroatom-doped porous carbon materials derived from poly(ionic liquid)s and their composites for battery and catalytic applications
Sammanfattning : In the past decade, there has been significant interest in heteroatom-doped porous carbons, driven by the distinctive and adjustable physical and chemical properties that they exhibit across scales, from the atomic to the macroscopic level. Particularly, attributes such as conductivity, electron density, high specific surface area, hierarchical pore structure, and oxidation resistance offer a wide range of characteristics for diverse applications.
