16. Methods for evaluation of early bone healing at titanium implants
Sammanfattning : Titanium has for a long time been the implant material of choice when in need for abilities as strength, biocompatibility and stability. Although numbers of studies have been made, little is known about the early events in implant healing. The primary aim in this thesis was to develop methods for evaluating bone healing around implants. LÄS MER
17. Process development for investment casting of thin-walled components : Manufacturing of light weight components
Sammanfattning : Manufacturing processes are getting more and more complex with increasing demands of advanced and light weight engineering components, especially in aerospace industry. The global requirements on lower fuel consumption and emissions are increasing the demands in lowering weight of cast components. LÄS MER
18. On Microstructural Analysis of Porous Media Existing in Fuel Cells Using the Lattice Boltzmann Method
Sammanfattning : This Licentiate thesis aims to gain understanding related to the fluid behavior in porous media existent in fuel cells (FCs) at microscale. In order to achieve this; the widely used methodology for solving problems in porous media has been applied, the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM). LÄS MER
19. Surface and porous structure of pigment coatings : Interactions with flexographic ink and effects on print quality
Sammanfattning : Each day, we are confronted with a large amount of more or less important information that we have to consider, and even in our digital society we need paper for communication, documentation and education. Much of the paper we use or are confronted by in our daily life, such as newspapers, books and packages, contains printed images or texts, and the appearance of both the print and the supporting surface is important. 20. The synergistic role of hierarchical macro- and mesoporous implant surface and microscopic view of enhanced osseointegration
Sammanfattning : The trend for designing of a titanium implant explored using different chemical compositions and crystallinity materials until people realized that the implant surface character was another important factor affecting the rate and extent of osseointegartion. Titanium received a macroporous titania surface layer by anodization, which contains open pores with average pore diameter around 5μm. LÄS MER
