  1. 1. Popliteal Artery Aneurysms : - epidemiology, treatment and results

    Författare :Anne Cervin; Martin Björck; Mårten Falkenberg; Hans Ravn; Michelle Antonello; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Popliteal artery aneurysms; Endovascular; Open surgery; Outcome; Occlusion; Screening; Prevalence; Rupture; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Popliteal aneurysms (PA) are limb threatening, since the aneurysm thrombose and emboli from the aneurysm sac occlude the distal vessels, resulting in chronic or acute limb ischaemia. Open surgical repair (OSR) has been challenged by endovascular repair (ER), a minimal invasive technique. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Popliteal Artery Aneurysm : Epidemiology, Surgical Management and Outcome

    Författare :Hans Ravn; Martin Björck; Anders Wanhainen; Torben V Schroeder; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Surgery; popliteal artery aneurysm; thrombolytic therapy; acute ischemia; surgical technique; long-term outcome; surveillance; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Even if popliteal artery aneurysm (PAA) is the most common peripheral aneurysm, no single surgeon or institution has enough patients to study this disease with appropriate scientific methods, and no population-based investigation exists. PAA epidemiology, treatment, management, and outcome were studied in a population-based study of 571 patients (717 legs) primarily operated on for PAAs and 100 episodes of preoperative thrombolysis in Sweden between 1987 and 2002. 3. 3. Orthopaedic Patients with Lower Limb Vascular Injuries

    Författare :Karin Bernhoff; Martin Björck; Sari Ponzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Vascular injuries in lower limbs are rare but serious events. If not detected and managed correctly and timely they can lead to permanent functional impairment and even limb loss. The increasing number of orthopaedic interventions, worldwide, makes awareness of this problem among orthopaedic surgeons important. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Aspects on arterial dimensions with special reference to aneurysmal disease

    Författare :Thomas Sandgren; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; orthopaedics; Surgery; Arteria poplitea; Arteria femoralis; Aneurysm; Arterial dimensions; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : The incidence of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) is increasing. The risk of rupture is related to diameter. However, rupture may occur also in small AAA. To evaluate the size of an aneurysm when related to the predicted normal aortic diameter might be a better predictor of risk. LÄS MER
