16. The Interaction between Triblock Copolymers and Surfactants in Dilute Aqueous Solution
Sammanfattning : The solution properties of dilute aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO) triblock copolymers and their interaction with surfactants have been investigated using static and dynamic light scattering, combined with small angle X-ray scattering, calorimetry and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques. In aqueous solution, the triblock copolymers P123 and F127 (EO20PO68EO20 and EO97PO68EO97, respectively) form micelles with a PPO core and a PEO corona. LÄS MER
17. Waterborne Alkyd-Acrylic Hybrids with High Solids Content -Preparation and Properties-
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns the preparation, characterization and film formation of a waterborne alkyd-acrylic hybrid system with high solids content of about 80 %. The alkyd-acrylic hybrids were prepared by slowly adding a linseed oil alkyd to an acrylic latex dispersion under stirring. LÄS MER
18. Proton-Conducting Polymers and Membranes for Fuel Cells-Preparation and Properties
Sammanfattning : The development of new materials for use in fuel cells is of importance for the probable replacement of the combustion engine by this technology in public vehicles in the future. The proton-conducting polymer electrolyte membrane is one of the main components in the fuel cell. LÄS MER
19. Heterogeneous Film-Forming Latexes : Preparation - Morphology - Mechanical Properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the preparation of heterogeneous latexes, which may serve as binders in coating applications, and the characterization of these. The latexes were prepared in two-stage seeded emulsion polymerization. LÄS MER
20. Amphiphilic Polymers as Additives in Biomedical Polyurethanes. Surface Properties and Morphology
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to achieve surface modification of two biomedical polyurethanes and one poly(urethane urea) through the addition of small amounts of amphiphilic copolymers in solution. The matrix polymers used were the poly(ether urethane)s Pellethane 2363-80AE (P80) and 2363-75D (P75) and a poly(ether urethane urea) similar to Biomer (PUUR). LÄS MER
