6. Properties of stabilizers in colloidal dispersions
Sammanfattning : Surfactants and polymers are frequently used as stabilizers in colloidal dispersions. Depending on their solubility and the interactions in their local environment, their tendency to remain adsorbed on a surface will differ. LÄS MER
7. Versatile Association Behavior in Mixtures of Oppositely Charged Amphiphiles : From DNA-Like Assembly of Supramolecular Helices to Coacervation in Chiral Surfactant Systems
Sammanfattning : As biological surfactants, bile salts (BSs), play important roles in biological processes, i.e., food digestion, but also in BS-related diseases, as well as in applications. LÄS MER
8. Solution properties of a hydrophobically modified polymer
Sammanfattning : The influence of hydrophobic modification on solution properties of water-soluble polymers in the semi-dilute regime have been studied. The nonionic ethyl(hydroxyethyl)cellulose (EHEC) and its hydrophobically modified analogue (HM-EHEC) are used as model substances. LÄS MER
9. Association Phenomena Involving Hydrophobically Modified Polymers. Electrostatic and Hydrophobic Contributions
Sammanfattning : The electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions in aqueous solutions of hydrophobically-modified water-soluble non-ionic or ionic polymers, their mixtures with a second polymer, nonionic or of opposite charge, and their mixtures with surfactants of opposite charge have been investigated. The relative strength of the electrostatic and hydrophobic contributions has been modulated by a variation of the polymer charge density and the solution pH, and by a variation in the degree and strength of the hydrophobic modifications, respectively. 10. Ethyl(hydroxyethyl)cellulose and Some Model Uncharged Polymers: A Calorimetric Study of Their Interaction with Surfactants in Aqueous Solution
Sammanfattning : The interactions between uncharged polymers, e.g. ethyl(hydroxylethyl)cellulose (EHEC) and some model polymers, and ionic surfactants in aqueous solution has been studied by using isothermal titration and differential scanning calorimetry. LÄS MER
