16. Thermoplastic Insulation for High Voltage Cables
Sammanfattning : High voltage direct current (HVDC) cables that seamlessly integrate renewables have an important contribution to the modern world’s efforts towards a more sustainable future. Extruded HVDC cables that efficiently and reliably transport electricity require robust insulation materials with good thermomechanical and dielectric properties. LÄS MER
17. Mass Transport Through Polymer Films: The Importance of Interfaces and Compatibility
Sammanfattning : Different types of barriers are used in packaging to keep and protect products from the surrounding environment and are often essential for storing and transportation. Today, many barriers are made of different types of polymers, but since most polymers do not exhibit desired barrier properties on their own, combinations must be used. LÄS MER
18. Lignocellulose Biocomposites– A Comparison of Wood Fibers and Microfibrillated Lignocellulose
Sammanfattning : All-lignocellulose composites, meaning densified fiber or fibril materials without added binder, show interesting mechanical properties and can be eco-friendly. Composites based on hot-pressed microfibrillated lignocellulose (MFLC) and lignocellulosic wood fiber (WF) reinforcements are compared with respect to processing, structure, mechanical properties, and eco-indicators. 19. Poly(N-Isopropylacrylamide) Polymer Brush Functionalized Nanostructures as Thermo-Responsive Gating Systems for Protein Transportation
Sammanfattning : Controlling molecule translocation through nanosized gaps is of great interest in novel systems for single molecule analysis and biomolecular membranes. The molecular gating property of thermo-responsive end-grafted poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) polymer brushes on well-shaped gold-silica nanostructures is intended to be investigated for controlled protein transportation via extinction spectroscopy and fluorescence microscopy methods below and above PNIPAM lower critical solution temperature (LCST; 32 °C in water). 20. Nano- and Micro-sized Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Particles on Solid Surfaces
Sammanfattning : Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are artificial receptors made by imprinting template molecules in a polymer matrix followed by their removal through washing to obtain a specific and selective template cavities. This property of the MIPs have made them a very efficient material for diverse applications such as chromatography, purification, drug sensing, etc. LÄS MER
