2. Degradable copolymers in additive manufacturing: controlled fabrication of pliable scaffolds
3. The role of computer-aided design and surface chemistry on Cell-scaffold interactions
Sammanfattning : Cell interactions and cell response to three dimensional scaffolds based on poly(L-lactide-co-1,5-dioxepan-2-one) [poly(LLA-co-DXO)] and poly(L-lactide-co-e-caprolactone) [poly(LLA-co-CL)] wereimprovedstudiedby increasing surface hydrophilicity and by using computer-aided scaffold design. Different amounts of Tween 80 (3, 10, 20 wt%) were mixed with the copolymer and it was found that the water contact angle decreased significantly with the amount of Tween 80. LÄS MER
4. Lipase chemoselectivity - kinetics and applications
Sammanfattning : A chemoselective catalyst is preferred in a chemical reaction where protecting groups otherwise are needed. The two lipases Candida antarctica lipase B and Rhizomucor miehei lipase showed large chemoselectivity ratios, defined as (kcat/KM)OH / (kcat/KM)SH, in a transacylation reaction with ethyl octanoate as acyl donor and hexanol or hexanethiol as acyl acceptor (paper I). 5. Synthesis, Characterisation and Properties of Biomimetic Biodegradable Polymers
Sammanfattning : The acceptance of blood contacting implants creating favorable conditions in vivo is decisively determined by their interaction with proteins that mediate inter cellular interactions with synthetic substrates. Adsorbed proteins can activate blood cascade systems like coagulation and complement that may result in serious blood clots, and/or immunological reactions. LÄS MER
