Biogas can contribute to the achievement of Sweden’s ambitious targets of decreased emissions of greenhouse gases and an increased share of renewables in the transport sector, a sector that encompasses the major challenges in the phase-out of fossil fuels. 14. Banks, Shocks and Monetary Policy
Sammanfattning : Essay 1: This paper studies the effect of monetary policy on the economy, distinguishing the effects of exogenous monetary policy shocks from information shocks that reveal the Federal Reserve's assessment of the economic outlook. To identify these two shocks, I exploit the difference in information content in public announcements by the Fed in its statements (released on decision days) and minutes of FOMC meetings (transcripts of the policy decision, released at a later date). 15. The economics of residual waste : policies, price discrimination, and welfare
Sammanfattning : Paper [I]: In this study, a net social cost framework is applied to provide insights on policy issues relating to the cross-border trade in waste fuel. We estimate the net social cost of using imported waste fuel in a highly efficient combined heat and power plant (CHP) in a cold climate by considering both private costs and benefits as well as external costs related to energy production, alternative waste management and fuel transport.
