6. Polarization-Resolved Particle Holography
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, measurement of particle fields using digital holography is the main subject. The questions investigated consider positioning, identification and sizing of nanometer and micrometer particles. The thesis explore these topics using both simulations and experimental measurements. 7. Analysis and Design of Base Station Antennas for Mobile Communications
Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with base station antennas and the environment they work in. Polarization diversity, dual band operation, and adaptive antenna systems are discussed with emphasis on how antennas for these applications should be designed. We compare the polarization diversity performance of different types of dual polarized antenna elements. LÄS MER
8. Quantum Wavepacket Dynamics in Molecular and Trapped Ion Systems
Sammanfattning : The motions of a wavepacket in the two coupled potentials studied in this thesis can be classified into either bistable or astable motion according to the wavepacket interference at the curve crossing. Bistable motion, in which the wavepacket performs a coupled oscillation but remains in the same adiabatic and diabatic state, can exist both in bound-bound systems and bound-unbound ones with long time stability. 9. Performance Studies and Star Tracking for PoGOLite
Sammanfattning : PoGOLite is a balloon-borne experiment, which will study polarized soft γ-ray emissionfrom astrophysical targets in the 25-80 keV energy range by applying well-typephoswich detector technology. Polarized γ-rays are expected from a wide variety of sources including rotation-powered pulsars, accreting black holes and neutron stars, and jet-dominated active galaxies. LÄS MER
10. 3D localization in digital holography from scattered light from micrometer-sized particles
Sammanfattning : When a particle is illuminated by a beam of light it will scatter and redistribute the light in all directions. How it scatters depends on the size, shape and refractive index of the particle. Additionally, it depends on the wavelength and polarization of the illuminating beam. LÄS MER
