  1. 1. Mixed Block Copolymer Solutions: Self-Assembly and Interactions

    Författare :Solmaz Bayati; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer; Block Copolymer; PEO-PPO-PEO; Pluronics©; Bile Salt; NaGDC; PNIPAAM; PAMPTMA; PAMPS; Mixed Micelle; Self-Assembly; Mixed Complexes;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis incorporates studies on the aqueous systems of two types of thermoresponsive amphiphilic block copolymers; a series of nonionic triblock copolymers comprising blocks of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(propylene oxide) (PPO) denoted as PEO-PPO-PEO block copolymers, and a series of ionic diblock copolymers consisting of one charged block and one block of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAM). Various techniques, such as dynamic and static light scattering (DLS and SLS), small angle X-ray and neutron scattering (SAXS and SANS), high sensitivity differential scanning calorimetry (HSDSC), turbidimetry, electrophoretic mobility measurements, and two-dimensional proton NMR nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (2D 1H NMR NOESY), were applied to study these block copolymer systems. 2. 2. Mesoporous Silica Formed with Triblock Copolymers

    Författare :Katarina Flodström; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; 1H NMR; TEM; SAXS; in situ; mechanism of formation; cubic Ia3d; cubic Im3m; Mesoporous; synthesis; Pluronic; SBA-16; SBA-15; hexagonal p6mm; synchrotron SAXS; Physical chemistry; amphiphilic polymers; silica;

    Sammanfattning : The formation of highly ordered mesoporous silica materials, using PEO-PPO-PEO amphiphilic triblock copolymers (so-called Pluronics) as structure directing agents, has been studied. The materials are formed through the addition of a silica source to a polymer solution of low concentration (2.5 wt ) under acidic conditions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Adsorption, aggregation and phase separation in colloidal systems

    Författare :Jing Dai; Istvan Furo; Peter Griffiths; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NMR; chemical shift; spin relaxation; self-diffusion; micelle; core freezing; segregation; solubilization; release; adsorption; binding; surfactant; carbon nanotube; block copolymer; dispersion; competitive adsorption; nanocomposite; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis presents work regarding amphiphilic molecules associated in aqueous solution or at the liquid/solid interface. Two main topics are included: the temperature-dependent behavior of micelles and the adsorption of dispersants on carbon nanotube (CNT) surfaces. LÄS MER
