11. Plant Aquaporins: A study of expression, localization, specificity, and regulation
Sammanfattning : Aquaporins, or Major Intrinsic Proteins (MIPs), are integral proteins that facilitate transport of water and other small neutral solutes across biological membranes. They belong to a well conserved and ancient family of proteins, present in all organisms ranging from bacteria to plants and humans. LÄS MER
12. Verticillium longisporum and plant immunity responses in Arabidopsis
Sammanfattning : Verticillium spp. are soil-borne ascomycete fungi belonging to a subgroup of Sordariomycetes, and the three major plant pathogens Verticillium longisporum, V. dahliae and V. albo-atrum cause disease on numerous plant species worldwide. LÄS MER
13. Plant major intrinsic proteins - functional implications of expression and localisation studies
Sammanfattning : Plant water channels are members of the very old Major Intrinsic Protein (MIP) family, with representatives in bacteria, fungi, animals, and plants. The genome of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana contains 35 MIP genes. LÄS MER
14. Plant-climate interactions over historical and geological time
Sammanfattning : Data-model comparisons are a useful approach to elucidating the relative influence of past climate change on vegetation dynamics over various spatial global, regional, stand) and temporal (historical, geological) scales. Comparisons between changes in tree species abundance reconstructed from pollen and simulated from a forest gap model, for example, indicate that based solely on climate change over the past 1500 years, southern Scandinavian forests should be co-dominated by Tilia and Fagus. 15. Linking plant population dynamics to the local environment and forest succession
Sammanfattning : Linking environmental variation to population dynamics is necessary to understand and predict how the environment influences species abundances and distributions. I used demographic, environmental and trait data of forest herbs to study effects of spatial variation in environmental factors on populations as well as environmental change in terms of effects of forest succession on field layer plants.
