1. Field and pilot-scale geochemical investigations into using sewage sludge for sulphidic mine waste remediation
Sammanfattning : Successful mine waste reclamation is a fundamental aspect in mine plan development and is legislated through the European Parliament’s ‘Management of Waste from Extractive Industries Directive (2006/21/EC)’. Field and pilot-scale trials were utilised to evaluate different applications of an alternative cover material, sewage sludge, in its ability to remediate and prevent acid rock drainage formation from sulphidic mine tailings derived from the Kristineberg Zn-Cu mine, northern Sweden. 2. Understanding the system-level for Mobility as a Service : A framework to evaluate full-scale impacts of MaaS
Sammanfattning : Mobility as a Service (MaaS), as a concept, has been widely popularised and considered to hold promising potential in reducing travel-related environmental impacts and transforming our current transport system. MaaS enables intermodal travel by providing enhanced features for users to access multiple mobility services. LÄS MER
3. Barrier Properties of greaseproof paper
Sammanfattning : The barrier properties of greaseproof paper are achieved by extensive beating of the fibres. This treatment results in high costs for energy, both as beating energy and drying energy. A full-scale trial has been performed to investigate the role of the pulp with respect to energy demand and the barrier properties of the final papers. LÄS MER
4. Innovative Contact Free Sensors for Metallurgical Process Control
Sammanfattning : The steel- and metal industry has an extensive production processing comprising many different process steps of solid, gaseous and liquid nature. Thus it is obvious that a number of different measurement technologies must be used to collect and evaluate key physical parameters which are necessary to control the production processes. LÄS MER
5. Climate Change Adaption of Waterworks for Browning Surface Waters : Nano- and Ultrafiltration Membrane Applications for Drinking Water Treatment
Sammanfattning : Natural organic matter (NOM) is found in all surface, ground, and soil waters. During recent decades, reports worldwide show a continuing increase in the color and NOM of the surface water, which has an adverse effect on drinking water purification. For several practical and hygienic reasons, the presence of NOM is undesirable in drinking water. LÄS MER
