1. Experimental Study of some Potassium and Sodium Bearing Aluminosilicates at High Temperatures and High Pressures
Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents the results of a high-temperature and high-pressure experimental study of some abundant aluminositicates, which are the main repositories for the two geochemically important elements, sodium and potassium, in the Earth's crust. Phase transitions of end member alkali feldspars and jadeite clinopyroxene are studied at high and ultrahigh pressures corresponding to the conditions between the transition zone and the deep Earth's lower mantle. 2. Dissolution Kinetics and Alteration Products of Micas and Epidote in Acidic Solutions at Room Temperature
Sammanfattning : The reaction kinetics of the weathering of several phyllosilicates and one sorosilicate were stud ied experimentally. The alteration products were characterised by various methods in clud ing XRD, HRTEM, SEM, FTIR, NMR and Mössbauer spectroscopy. LÄS MER
3. 3D structural framework and constraints on the timing of hydrothermal alteration and ore formation at the Falun Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Falun pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, situated in the Palaeoproterozoic (1.9–1.8 Ga) Bergslagen lithotectonic unit in the south-western part of the Fennoscandian Shield, is one of the major base and minor precious metal sulphide deposits in Sweden. LÄS MER
4. Transmission of slow highly charged ions through nano-structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on experimental investigations of transmitting slow highly charged ions through nano-structures of various cross-sections. Transmission through rhombic and rectangular nanocapillaries in muscovite and phlogopite mica, respectively, is used to study the guiding and shaping of highly charged ion beams. LÄS MER
5. The origin of the Ryllshyttan stratabound Zn-Pb-Ag-(Cu) + magnetite deposit, Garpenberg, Bergslagen, Sweden
Sammanfattning : Ryllshyttan is a Palaeoproterozoic lower amphibolite-facies poly-metamorphosed stratabound Zn-Pb-Ag-(Cu) + magnetite deposit. It is located in the Garpenberg inlier of the Bergslagen mining district of southern Sweden and produced ~ 1 Mt sulphide ore and ~ 0.4 Mt magnetite ore from the early 16th century until 1944. LÄS MER
