16. Flexibility in knowing school mathematics : In the contexts of a Swedish and an Indian school class
Sammanfattning : A central question in mathematics education research concerns understanding. The main objective of the present thesis has been to obtain insights into flexible modes of knowing in school mathematics in two school class contexts, and how these relate to modes of being a learner in these contexts, with specific focus on learners’ flexible ways of discerning parts and delimiting wholes, and how they understand part- and whole-relationships while doing mathematics. 18. Barns teaterskapande : En ämnesdidaktisk studie av drama och teater i kulturskolan
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is children’s theatre making in the Swedish School of Arts (Kulturskolan), which involves the creating work that children do on their own when they are asked to craft dramatic scenes without relying on a script or a story. Despite the fact that this is a common way of producing theatre in the Swedish School of Arts, little research has been done on the collective process when it is controlled by the children themselves. Sammanfattning : To grasp what learning, teaching and knowing health might be in relation to a physical activity, the study explores what ninth grade students find difficult, and what they need to discern in teaching to experience the knowing of participation and evaluation of street dance classes through the concepts comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness. These concepts are brought from Aron Antonovsky perspective of salutogenic health by Sense of Coherence (SOC). LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The Reflective STRENGTH-Giving Dialogue (STRENGTH) method was developed, grounded in a lifeworld perspective, with a focus on identifying and meeting older persons’ needs for the promotion of health and well-being. In this thesis, STRENGTH, including the digital tool SelfSTRENGTH, was tested in the context of community-dwelling older persons living with long-term health problems. LÄS MER
