  1. 11. Pharmacokinetics and dosimetry of radiolabelled octreotide for tumour therapy

    Författare :Peter Bernhardt; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacokinetics; radiation dosimetry; therapy; radionuclides; octreotide; neuroendocrine tumours; nude mice; patients;

    Sammanfattning : Somatostatin (SS) receptors (sstr) are usually highly expressed on neuroendocrine (NE) tumours. The radiolabelled SS analogue 111In-DTPA-D-Phe1-octreotide is today widely used to scintigraphically visualise NE tumours, and high 111In activity concentrations are obtained in tumour vs. normal tissues. 2. 12. Pharmacodynamics of Enzyme Induction and its Consequences for Substrate Elimination

    Författare :Mats O. Magnusson; Rikard Sandström; Mats Karlsson; Ulf Bredberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pharmacokinetics Pharmacotherapy; Pharmacokinetics; Pharmacodynamics; Enzyme induction; Time course; Turnover model; Mechanism-based; Modelling; NONMEM; Farmakokinetik Farmakoterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Enzyme induction is a process whereby a molecule enhances the expression of enzymes. If the affected enzymes are involved in the elimination of a drug, this may result in a drug interaction. Induction is therefore of major concern during drug development and in clinical practice. 3. 13. Clinical Pharmacokinetics of the Antimalarial Artemisinin Based on Saliva Sampling

    Författare :Toufigh Gordi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical biosciences; Artemisinin; pharmacokinetics; saliva; HPLC; pharmacodynamics; Farmaceutisk biovetenskap; Biopharmacy; Biofarmaci; Biopharmaceutics; biofarmaci;

    Sammanfattning : Artemisinin is the parent compound of a novel family of antimalarials. Repetitive administrations of artemisinin to both healthy volunteers and malaria patients have been shown to result in decreased plasma concentrations of the compound, most probably due to an autoinduction of different CYP450 enzymes. 4. 14. Using Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Principles to Evaluate Individualisation of Antibiotic Dosing – Emphasis on Cefuroxime

    Författare :Anders Viberg; Marie Sandström; Otto Cars; Mats Karlsson; Hartmut Derendorf; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacokinetics Pharmacotherapy; Cefuroxime; pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamics; dosing individualisation; NONMEM; Farmakokinetik Farmakoterapi; PHARMACY; FARMACI;

    Sammanfattning : Cefuroxime is a renally eliminated antibiotic used against a variety of different bacterial infections. The pharmacokinetics (PK) for cefuroxime was studied in 97 hospitalized patients using population analysis. To be able to measure cefuroxime in human serum a new sensitive analytical method was developed using mass spectrometry detection. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions in the management of malaria, HIV and tuberculosis

    Författare :Doaa Elsherbiny; Ulrika Simonsson; Mats Karlsson; Lars Ståhle; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pharmacokinetics Pharmacotherapy; Pharmacokinetics; Drug-drug interactions; Cytochrome P-450; Artemisinin antimalarials; Nevirapine; Lopinavir; Rifampicin; NONMEM; Farmakokinetik Farmakoterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Malaria, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and tuberculosis (TB) are global health problems having their worst situation in sub-Saharan Africa. Consequently, concomitant use of antimalarial, antiretroviral and antitubercular drugs may be needed, resulting in a potential risk of drug-drug interactions. LÄS MER
