  1. 1. UVA/B induced redox alterations and apoptosis in human melanocytes

    Författare :Petra Wäster Larsson; Inger Rosdahl; Karin Öllinger; Ian Cotgreave; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; UV; melanocyte; apoptosis; glutathione; p53; Dermatology and venerology; Dermatologi och venerologi;

    Sammanfattning : Malignant melanoma is one of the most rapidly increasing cancers and accounts for about three-quarter of all skin cancer deaths worldwide. Despite compelling evidence that ultraviolet (UV) irradiation causes melanoma the knowledge how various wavelength spectra affect the balance between proliferation and apoptosis controlling the homeostasis of the melanocyte population is still limited. 2. 2. Lysosomal Membrane Stability and Cathepsins in Cell Death

    Författare :Hanna Appelqvist; Karin Öllinger; Katarina Kågedal; Petra Wäster; Maria Shoshan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Lysosomes are acidic organelles that are critically involved in a number of physiological processes, including macromolecule degradation, endocytosis, autophagy, exocytosis and cholesterol homeostasis. Several pathological conditions, such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and lysosomal storage diseases, involve lysosomal disturbances, indicating the importance of the organelle for correct cellular function. 3. 3. Dealing with damaged lysosomes : Impact of lysosomal membrane stability in health and disease

    Författare :Ida Eriksson; Karin Öllinger; Petra Wäster; Stig Linder; Daniel Wüstner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The lysosome is the main unit for degradation and plays important roles in various cellular processes, such as nutrient sensing, cholesterol regulation and cell death. Consequently, altered lysosomal function contributes to, or even causes, several diseases. LÄS MER
