6. Low-angle estimation : Models, methods and bounds
Sammanfattning : In this work we study the performance of elevation estimators and lower bounds on the estimation error variance for a low angle target in a smooth sea scenario using an array antenna. The article is structured around some key assumptions on multipath knowledge, signal parameterization and noise covariance, giving the reader a framework in which Maximum Likelihood estimators exploiting different á priori information can be found. 7. On Identification of Biological Systems
Sammanfattning : System identification finds nowadays application in various areas of biological research as a tool of empiric mathematical modeling and model individualization. A fundamental challenge of system identification in biology awaits in the form of response variability. LÄS MER
8. Identification Techniques for Mathematical Modeling of the Human Smooth Pursuit System
Sammanfattning : This thesis proposes nonlinear system identification techniques for the mathematical modeling of the human smooth pursuit system (SPS) with application to motor symptom quantification in Parkinson's disease (PD). The SPS refers to the complex neuromuscular system in humans that governs the smooth pursuit eye movements (SPEM). LÄS MER
9. Advanced Spectral Analysis with Applications
Sammanfattning : Spectral analysis has advanced the last decades as a signal processing tool to extract significant information about certain properties of measured data. The practical use of spectral analysis techniques in time-series analysis has been emphasized in the immense amount of previous literature in the field and by a rapidly growing number of applications. 10. Parametric methods for frequency-selective MR spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Accurate and efficient quantitation of the data components in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) signals can be an important step in the analysis of biochemical substances. In several practical applications of MR spectroscopy the user is interested only in the data components lying in a small frequency band of the spectrum. LÄS MER
