1. Depression in older people with and without dementia : non-pharmacological interventions and associations between psychotropic drugs and mortality
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate associations between psychotropic drug use and death, associations between functional capacity, dependency in ADL and depression, and to evaluate a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce depressive symptoms, among older people with and without dementia. There is limited knowledge about the risk of death associated with psychotropic drug use among those aged ≥85 years, those with dementia, or those living in residential care facilities; groups that have a higher intake of psychotropic drugs and who are also more prone to adverse drug reactions. 4. Solution-Chemically Derived Spectrally Selective Solar Absorbers : With System Perspectives on Solar Heating
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two parts, one dominating part concerning spectrally selective solar absorbers and one dealing with thermal solar systems. The appended papers I to VIII concern the solar absorber part, papers dealing with the systems part have not been included in the thesis. LÄS MER
5. Analysis of adhesively bonded joints : an asymptotic approach
Sammanfattning : Simulations using the Finite Element Method (FEM) play an increasingly important role in the design process of joints and fasteners in the aerospace industry. In order to utilize the potential of using adhesive bonding, there is an increasing need for effective and accurate computational methods. LÄS MER
