  1. 21. Speech and language in patients with an isolated cleft palate and/or 22q11 deletion syndrome

    Författare :Christina Persson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; isolated cleft palate; 22q11 deletion syndrome; articulation; language; velopharyngeal impairment; intelligibility.;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: To study speech with regard to articulation and perceptual speech symptoms related to velopharyngeal dysfunction, intelligibility and language ability in patients born with a) an isolated cleft palate with or without additional malformations/syndromes, or b) 22q11 deletion syndrome (22q11 DS).Materials and methods: Fifty-three patients (aged 3-10 years) born with an isolated cleft palate and 30 non-cleft children participated in studies I and II, and 65 consecutively referred patients with 22q11 DS confirmed by a FISH-test participated in studies III and IV. Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Petter Bivall; Anders Ynnerman; Lena A. E. Tibell; Matthew D. Cooper; Miriam Reiner; [2010]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Haptics; Educational Research; Biomolecular Education; Life Science; JND; Just Noticeable Difference; Protein-ligand Docking; Haptic docking; Visualization; Haptic Transfer Functions; Volume Data Haptics; History Dependent Transfer Function; Log file analysis; Molecular Recognition; Force Feedback; Virtual Reality; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Other information technology; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Övrig informationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents research in the development and use of a multi-modal visual and haptic virtual model in higher education. The model, named Chemical Force Feedback (CFF), represents molecular recognition through the example of protein-ligand docking, and enables students to simultaneously see and feel representations of the protein and ligand molecules and their force interactions. 3. 23. Efficient Compression and Rasterization Algorithms for Graphics Hardware

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Jon Hasselgren; [2006]

    Sammanfattning : Despite rapid development, modern graphics hardware is still much too slow to render photo-realistic images in real time, and it will most likely remain so if we rely only on yearly growth in hardware performance. Therefore, better algorithms are constantly needed in order to advance the field. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Multiscale Curvature Detection in Computer Vision

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Björn Johansson; Gösta Granlund; [2001]

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a new method for detection of complex curvatures such as corners, circles, and star patterns. The method is based on a second degree local polynomial model applied to a local orientation description in double angle representation. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Off-line Foveated Compression and Scene Perception: An Eye-Tracking Approach

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Electrical and Information Technology, Lund University

    Författare :Marcus Nyström; [2008]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gaze prediction; off-line foveation; scene perception; eye-tracking; compression;

    Sammanfattning : With the continued growth of digital services offering storage and communication of pictorial information, the need to efficiently represent this information has become increasingly important, both from an information theoretic and a perceptual point of view. There has been a recent interest to design systems for efficient representation and compression of image and video data that take the features of the human visual system into account. LÄS MER
