  1. 1. Deep Perceptual Loss and Similarity

    Författare :Gustav Grund Pihlgren; Marcus Liwicki; Fredrik Sandin; Hugo Larochelle; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image Similarity; Perceptual Similarity; Perceptual Loss; Deep Features; Deep Learning; Machine Learning; Maskininlärning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates deep perceptual loss and (deep perceptual) similarity; methods for computing loss and similarity for images as the distance between the deep features extracted from neural networks. The primary contributions of the thesis consist of (i) aggregating much of the existing research on deep perceptual loss and similarity, and (ii) presenting novel research into understanding and improving the methods. 3. 3. Prosody in Swedish Children with Language Impairment. Perceptual, Acoustic and Interactional Aspects

    Författare :Christina Samuelsson; foniatri och audiologi Logopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen; audiology; Otorhinolaryngology; classification; acoustic evaluation; prosody; perceptual evaluations; language impairment;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to explore prosodic problems in Swedish children with language impairment (LI). In the first study, 29 children with LI participated. They were assessed with an assessment procedure for prosody at the word, phrase and discourse levels, developed within this thesis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. En perceptuell och akustisk studie av svenskans koronaler i ett dialektperspektiv

    Författare :Peder Livijn; Anders Eriksson; Olle Engstrand; Frank Kügler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Swedish; Dialect; Typology; Perceptual discrimination; Acoustical measurements; Phonetics; Fonetik; Phonetics; fonetik;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this dissertation is to contribute to a typology of the Swedish language as it was spoken in the entire Swedish speaking area around the year 2000. Specifically, the plan is to base this typology solely on different pronunciations of the four coronal consonants /t, d, n/ and /l/. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Perceptual and Squared Error Aspects in Speech and Audio Coding

    Författare :Harald Pobloth; Bastiaan Kleijn; Gernot Kubin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; speech coding; audio coding; auditory models; perceptual distortion measures; squared error; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : In the process of quantization, speech and audio signals are changed. This thesis contains four papers concerned with comparing and minimizing different measures to quantify the changes introduced. Before quantization the signal can be transformed to another domain. Transforms related to the discrete Fourier transform allow for e. LÄS MER
