11. Influence of Ly49 inhibitory receptors and MHC class I on T cell and NK cell function
Sammanfattning : Natural Killer cells (NK) can kill virus infected cells and tumor cells but do not harm normal surrounding cells. The function of Ly49 receptors on NK cells is important in maintaining selftolerance since they transmit inhibitory signals when bound to endogenous MHC class I molecules. Their role in T cells is however unclear. LÄS MER
12. Quantum Dot Solar Cells: Towards Environmentally Friendly Materials
Sammanfattning : To decrease the world’s energy dependence on fossil fuels, energy production and specifically electricity production needs to shift to more sustainable alternatives. One such alternative is solar cells as they directly convert energy emitted from the sun into electricity. LÄS MER
13. Governance for sustainable development of major European transport corridors : The Scandinavian-Mediterranean TEN-T core network corridor
Sammanfattning : Intermodal road, rail, air and sea transport networks across the European Union (EU) calledTrans-European Networks for Transport (TEN-T) are currently being implemented. Keyelements, which should be implemented by 2030, are the most strategic TEN-T Core networkcorridors. LÄS MER
14. Chemoinformetics for green chemistry
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development of quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSPR) models for physicochemical properties, e.g., vapor pressure and partitioning coefficients. Such models can be used to estimate environmental distribution and transformation of the pollutants or to characterize solvents properties. LÄS MER
15. Uncertainty, variability and environmental risk analysis
Sammanfattning : The negative effects of hazardous substances and possible measures that can be taken are evaluated in the environmental risk analysis process, consisting of risk assessment, risk communication and risk management. Uncertainty due to lack of knowledge and natural variability are always present in this process. LÄS MER
