6. Automated Derivation of Random Generators for Algebraic Data Types
Sammanfattning : Many testing techniques such as generational fuzzing or random property-based testing require the existence of some sort of random generation process for the values used as test inputs. Implementing such generators is usually a task left to end-users, who do their best to come up with somewhat sensible implementations after several iterations of trial and error. LÄS MER
7. Methods for mechanical testing based on analysis of elastic waves in rods
Sammanfattning : This thesis summarizes six papers on development and applications of a method to evaluate the normal force and particle velocity at any cross-section of a nonuniform rod from measurements of strain at two different cross-sections. In Paper A the method is developed. It is an extension of that developed by Lundberg and Henchoz for uniform rods. LÄS MER
8. Constitutive equations for concrete materials subjected to high rate of loading
Sammanfattning : Continuum mechanics is used to model the mechanical behaviour of concrete structures subjected to high rates of loading in defence applications. Large deformation theory is used and an isotropic elastic-plastic constitutive equation with isotropic hardening, damage and strain rate dependent loading surface. LÄS MER
9. Acetylation of Solid Wood. Wood Properties and Process Development
Sammanfattning : The influence of acetylation on selected wood properties has been determined for Scandinavian pine and spruce wood, in order to predict the behavior of acetylated wood when it is used in different applications. Only minor differences in both bending strength and the modulus of elasticity were obtained for acetylated wood when compared with unmodified wood, and can, for practical applications, be considered unaltered. 10. Validation of heavy vehicle loading responses and temperature predictions in flexible pavements using field data
Sammanfattning : It is well established that both traffic-related loading and environmental conditions influence the structural behaviour of pavements. Pavement design methods aim to consider the effect of traffic loading and environmental variables on pavement structure, foresee their changes during the lifetime of the pavement and predict the resulting distresses and pavement life.
