    Sammanfattning : Over the past decade, the field of medical diagnostics has seen an incredible amount of research towards the integration of one-dimensional nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes, metallic and semiconducting nanowires and nanoribbons for a variety of bio-applications. Among the mentioned one-dimensional structures, silicon nanoribbon (SiNR) field-effect transistors (FET) as electro-chemical nanosensors hold particular promise for label-free, real-time and sensitive detection of biomolecules using affinity-based detection.     Sammanfattning : The use of methane based fuels, such as natural gas and biogas, benefits from lower emissions of CO2, CO, NOx, non-methane HC, SOx and particulate matters compared to traditionally used liquid fossil fuels. However, the exhaust gases contain significant levels of unburnt CH4 residuals, which are desirable to minimize since CH4 is a strong greenhouse gas with high global warming potential. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Natural gas and biogas, which have methane as their main component, are interesting choices of fuel to reduce the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. However, as methane is a greenhouse gas, uncombusted methane should be removed from the combustion gases. Emission control catalysts can preferably be used to completely oxidise methane. LÄS MER
