  1. 11. Wear of high strength steels and ductile iron and its effect on fatigue performance

    Författare :Abdulbaset Mussa; Pavel Krakhmalev; Jens Bergström; Bojan Podgornic; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sliding wear; severe plastic deformation; delamination; WEL and synergy of wear and fatigue; Materialteknik; Materials Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Machinery components used in demanding applications are required to transmit or carry mechanical loads under severe loading conditions. They are subjected to cyclic loading and repeated sliding contact that in many cases result in a premature failure of components. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Investigation of Topography, Adhesion and Diffusion Wear in Sliding Contacts during Steel and Titanium Alloy Machining

    Författare :Sara Saketi; Staffan Jacobson; Mikael Olsson; Pavel Krakhmalev; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Tribology; Metal cutting; Cemented carbide; PCBN; CVD and PVD coatings; Sur-face topography; Wear mechanisms; Diffusion;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis work is to increase the fundamental knowledge of the tribological contact between the cutting tool and the work material in three different cutting operations, i.e. hard milling of cold work tool steels, turning in 316L stainless steel and turning in Ti6Al4V alloy, respectively. 3. 13. Adhesive wear testing and modelling of tool steels sliding against sheet metals

    Författare :Fredrik W. Lindvall; Jens Bergström; Pavel Krakhmalev; Mikael Olsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adhesive wear; Materialteknik; Materials Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Sheet metal forming is a manufacturing method used because of its versatility. Sheets are plastically deformed by a tool to create a product. A tool is expected to last for several 100,000 forming operations and efforts are made to optimize the tools. A common type of wear referred to as galling is the adhesion of sheet material to the tools. LÄS MER
