  1. 21. Computational methods for assessing chemical risk : focusing on toxicokinetic modelling in zebrafish (danio rerio)

    Författare :Ioana C. Chelcea; Patrik L. Andersson; Timo Hamers; Jessica Legradi; Stefan Örn; Carolina Vogs; Nynke Kramer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PBTK; Toxicokinetics; Endocrine disruptors; bisphenols; zebrafish; embryo; Toxicology; toxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : New chemicals are constantly produced and large data gaps exist on hazards of currently used industrial chemicals, stressing the need for rapid, ethically sound and cost-efficient hazard assessment methods. Traditional methods for effect assessment based on animal testing, do not meet these requirements and thus the toxicology field has been moving towards the development of new approach methodologies which include in vitro approaches but also computational methods. 2. 22. Environmentally relevant chemical disruptors of oxidative phosphorylation in Baltic Sea biota : Exposure and toxic potentials

    Författare :Anna-Karin Dahlberg; Lillemor Asplund; Åke Bergman; Göran Marsh; Patrik Andersson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oxidative phosphorylation; OH-PBDEs; MeO-PBDEs; PBDEs; long-tailed duck Clangula hyemalis ; Baltic herring Clupea harengus ; Baltic blue mussel Mytilus trossulus x Mytilus edulis ; Baltic Sea; miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on toxicity and occurrence of hydroxylated polybrominated diphenyl ethers (OH-PBDEs) in Baltic Sea biota. The aims were to assess OH-PBDEs potency for disruption of oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) and determine their and related compounds exposure in Baltic blue mussel, herring and long-tailed duck. 3. 23. Characterization of PAC-contaminated soil with the focus on availability, leachability and biological activities

    Författare :Monika M. Lam; Magnus Engwall; Maria Larsson; Patrik Andersson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polycyclic aromatic compounds; Availability; Mobility; Soil; Risk assessment; AhR-mediated activity; ER-mediated activity;

    Sammanfattning : Current risk assessments of polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs)-contaminated soil are often based on the 16 priority PAHs and do not consider availability of PACs in soil sufficiently. This may lead to uncertainties of the assessment, since important contaminants can be overlooked and only a small fraction of contaminants is available for the uptake for organisms. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Computational methods for analyzing dioxin-like compounds and identifying potential aryl hydrocarbon receptor ligands : multivariate studies based on human and rodent in vitro data

    Författare :Malin Larsson; Patrik Andersson; Anna Linusson; Mats Tysklind; Scott Boyer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dioxin-like compounds; multivariate analysis; toxic equivalency factor; quantitative structure-activity relationship; descriptors; virtual screening; in vitro; species variation; aryl hydrocarbon receptor;

    Sammanfattning : Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are omnipresent and persistent environmental pollutants. In particular, 29 congeners are of special concern, and these are usually referred to as dioxin-like compounds (DLCs). LÄS MER

  5. 25. A techno-economic system approach for the energy renovation of residential districts built before 1945

    Författare :Vlatko Milic; Bahram Moshfegh; Patrik Rohdin; Klas Ekelöw; Maria Andersson; Magnus Åberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : A key factor in the quest for sustainable development worldwide is reducing the energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from residential buildings. The residential and service sector represent 39% of the final energy use in Sweden. LÄS MER
