2. Utilization of Andean grain flours in the development of wheat flour dough
Sammanfattning : Bread dough was studied in relation to three Andean grain flours, quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus) and canahua (Chenopodium pallidicaule), as partial replacements for wheat flour with the perspectives of dough and breadmaking. This thesis deals with the understanding of both dough as a complex system, consisting of various water-filled polymers, and dough as a viscoelastic material, with different responses to deformations, in order to contribute to possibilities for improvements in dough analysis and development of novel products. 3. A two step model for linear prediction, with connections to PLS
Sammanfattning : In the thesis, we consider prediction of a univariate response variable, especially when the explanatory variables are almost collinear. A two step approach has been proposed. The first step is to summarize the information in the explanatory variables via a bilinear model with a Krylov structured design matrix. LÄS MER
4. Environmental influence on Hg and 137Cs levels in perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) and roach (Rutilus rutilus L.) from circumneutral lakes
Sammanfattning : Mercury and radioactive caesium have received immense attention in Sweden during the past decades, as common contaminants in fish. This thesis examines how the Hg and 137Cs levels in fish from 79 circumneutral lakes are affected by various environmental factors. LÄS MER
5. Synthesis, Pharmacological Characterization and QSAR Modelling of 4-Phenylpiperidines and 4-Phenylpiperazines Effects on the dopaminergic neurotransmission in vivo
Sammanfattning : The endogenous neurotransmitter dopamine (DA) is involved in several functions that are controlled from the central nervous system (CNS), for example behaviour, memory, cognition and reward. A disturbed dopaminergic neurotransmission may lead to many severe conditions, such as schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or Parkinson's disease (PD). LÄS MER
