Special emphasis is laid on the town of Sigtuna and the three provinces of Tiundaland, Attundaland and Fjädrundaland (the territory now known as Uppland). Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis is to discuss church building, the architectural design of Romanesque and Gothic churches and the use and symbolic interpretation of church buildings in the medieval period. Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with collective nicknames denoting the inhabitants of a place (parish, village etc.) in northern Sweden, i.e. names of the type arnästjuvar (denoting the inhabitants of the parish of Arnäs; tjuv 'thief') and tynderötuppar (denoting the inhabitants of the parish of Tynderö; tupp 'cock'). An important question is whether there were differences in behavior concerning the formation of families and the choice of partners as between different social groups and as between natives and in-migrants.
