    Författare :Paul Baverel; Mats Karlsson; Radojka Savic; Nils Hoem; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nonparametric; model; pharmacometrics; pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamic; imprecision; covariate analysis; parameter distribution; Statistics; computer and systems science; Statistik; data- och systemvetenskap; Pharmaceutical pharmacology; Farmaceutisk farmakologi; Biopharmaceutics; Biofarmaci; Clinical Pharmacology; Klinisk farmakologi; Computer Systems; Datorteknik; Farmakologi; Pharmacology; Statistics; Statistik;

    Sammanfattning : A nonparametric population approach is now accessible to a more comprehensive network of modelers given its recent implementation into the popular NONMEM application, previously limited in scope by standard parametric approaches for the analysis of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data. The aim of this thesis was to assess the relative merits and downsides of nonparametric models in a nonlinear mixed effects framework in comparison with a set of parametric models developed in NONMEM based on real datasets and when applied to simple experimental settings, and to develop new diagnostic tools adapted to nonparametric models. 2. 12. Advanced TCAD Simulations and Characterization of Semiconductor Devices

    Författare :Tony Ewert; Jörgen Olsson; Marcel Pelgrom; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Electronics; MOSFET; RDF; random dopant fluctuation; asymmetric; parametric mismatch; TCAD; compact modeling; fluctuation model; Elektronik;

    Sammanfattning : Today, micro- and nano-electronic devices are becoming more complex and advanced as the dimensions are shrinking. It is therefore a very challenging task to develop new device technologies with performance that can be predicted. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Degenerate and nondegenerate Josephson parametric oscillators for quantum information applications

    Författare :Andreas Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum information; superconducting circuits; multimode; circuit quantum electrodynamics; SQUID; Parametric oscillations;

    Sammanfattning : Parametric oscillations are well studied phenomena, with applications in amplification, quantum optics, and quantum information processing. They can occur as a parameter of a system, such as the resonant frequency, is being modulated or “pumped” by an external field. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Numerical investigation of the flow and instabilities at part-load and speed-no-load in an axial turbine

    Författare :Jelle Kranenbarg; Michel Cervantes; Lisa Prahl Wittberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Speed-no-load; vortical flow structures; flow instabilities; rotating stall; mitigation; independent guide vanes; axial turbine; swirling flow; off design operation; URANS; parametric study; blade clearance; head losses; diffusor; GEKO model; flow separation; hydraulic turbine; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Global renewable energy requirements rapidly increase with the transition to a fossil-free society. As a result, intermittent energy resources, such as wind- and solar power, have become increasingly popular. However, their energy production varies over time, both in the short- and long term. 5. 15. Controlling the Roll Responses of Volume Carriers

    Författare :Carl-Johan Söder; Anders Rosén; Jan De Kat; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :PCTC; parametric roll; roll response; roll damping; rudder control; aerodynamic roll damping; roll mitigation; racking; Ikeda’s method; CFD; model tests; Full-scale tests; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Modern volume carriers such as container vessels, cruise ships and Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTC’s) have become more vulnerable to critical roll responses as built in margins have been traded against increased transport efficiency. The research presented in this doctoral thesis aims at enhancing the predictability and control of these critical roll responses. LÄS MER
