26. Performance Optimization Techniques and Tools for Data-Intensive Computation Platforms : An Overview of Performance Limitations in Big Data Systems and Proposed Optimizations
Sammanfattning : Big data processing has recently gained a lot of attention both from academia and industry. The term refers to tools, methods, techniques and frameworks built to collect, store, process and analyze massive amounts of data. Big data can be structured, unstructured or semi-structured. LÄS MER
27. Protocols with Heterogeneous Real-Time Services for High-Performance Embedded Networks
Sammanfattning : Network protocols for applications that demand high performance and heterogeneous real-time services are presented. These protocols control the medium access to the network and offer additional features to the user, both different user services for traffic and services for parallel and distributed real-time processing. 28. Automatic and Explicit Parallelization Approaches for Mathematical Simulation Models
Sammanfattning : The move from single core and processor systems to multi-core and many-processors systemscomes with the requirement of implementing computations in a way that can utilizethese multiple units eciently. This task of writing ecient multi-threaded algorithmswill not be possible with out improving programming languages and compilers to providethe mechanisms to do so. LÄS MER
29. Structure-Exploiting Numerical Algorithms for Optimal Control
Sammanfattning : Numerical algorithms for efficiently solving optimal control problems are important for commonly used advanced control strategies, such as model predictive control (MPC), but can also be useful for advanced estimation techniques, such as moving horizon estimation (MHE). In MPC, the control input is computed by solving a constrained finite-time optimal control (CFTOC) problem on-line, and in MHE the estimated states are obtained by solving an optimization problem that often can be formulated as a CFTOC problem. 30. Contributions to the Modeling and Simulation of Mechanical Systems with Detailed Contact Analyses
Sammanfattning : The motivation for this thesis was the need for further development of multibody dynamics simulation packages focused on detailed contact analysis. The thesis makes contributions in three different areas:Part I summarizes the equations, algorithms and design decisions necessary for dynamics simulation of flexible bodies with moving contacts.
