1. Efficient Finite Element Approach for Structural-Acoustic Applications including 3D modelling of Sound Absorbing Porous Materials
Sammanfattning : In the context of interior noise reduction, the present work aims at proposing Finite Element (FE) solution strategies for interior structural-acoustic applications including 3D modelling of homogeneous and isotropic poroelastic materials, under timeharmonic excitations, and in the low frequency range. A model based on the Biot-Allard theory is used for the poroelastic materials, which is known to be very costly in terms of computational resources. LÄS MER

3. Multipoint Padé approximants used for piecewise rational interpolation and for interpolation to functions of Stieltjes' type
Sammanfattning : A multipoint Padë approximant, R, to a function of Stieltjes1 type is determined. The function R has numerator of degree n-l and denominator of degree n.The 2n interpolation points must belong to the region where f is analytic, and if one non-real point is amongst the interpolation points its complex-conjugated point must too. 4. Propagation of weak shock waves in an elliptical cavity
Sammanfattning : The propagation of weak shock waves in a planar elliptical cavity is studied theoretically and experimentally. The results are of interest in the design of an elliptical high-speed water jet generator operating in a transient fashion with electrically generated shocks in the acoustic regime. LÄS MER
5. Procedures in Adaptive Finite Element Analysis
Sammanfattning : The present work is concerned with topics related to some adaptive methods for the approximate solution of differential equations. Emphasis is on the finite element method for second order elliptic equations, where we use either p-refinement or remeshing with an advancing front mesh generator in order to improve approximate solutions.
