    Sammanfattning : The MAX IV facility includes two storage rings, operated at 1.5 and 3 GeV energy, for the purpose of producing high-brilliance synchrotron radiation for users. The 1.5 GeV ring replaces the previous MAX II and MAX III storage rings as a source of UV and soft X-rays, whereas the 3 GeV ring is optimized for hard X-rays. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis addresses various means of reducing inflammatory responses associated with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and retransfusion of pericardial suction blood (PSB) during cardiac surgery. Four (I-IV) prospective randomised controlled clinical trials comprising 475 patients were performed in the following areas: effects of heparin coating on measures of clinical outcome and memory function (I, II), inflammatory reactions in PSB and its systemic effects after retransfusion using cardiotomy suction or cell salvage (III) and effects of retransfusion of PSB on memory function and release patterns of protein S100B (IV).     Sammanfattning : The low-energy structure of 133Sn, 133Sb and 133Te has been studied. The levels of 133Sn were populated in the β-delayed neutron decay of 134In at the ISOLDE PS-Booster (PSB) mass-separator facility at CERN. The single-neutron states p3/2, h9/2 and f5/2 in 133Sn were identified at 853.7, 1560. LÄS MER
