    Sammanfattning : Mitochondria are the energy producing organelles of the eukaryotic cell. The human mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is a double stranded circular molecule of about 16 kb, usually present at 1000-10 000 copies per cell.     Sammanfattning : Eukaryotic cells have their own energy-producing organelles called mitochondria. The energy is stored in the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecule and is produced via the oxidative phosphorylation process inside the mitochondria.     Sammanfattning : Presently, plant biomass is considered as one of the major future renewable sources for the production of second-generation biofuels. While the first generation biofuels essentially are based on starch and sucrose rich feed stocks and which production may compete with food production, the second-generation biofuels may be based on lignocellulose as feedstock, which is less problematic from an ethical point of view.
