  1. 1. Mechanisms and genes controlling the signalling network for biotic and abiotic stress defences in Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heyhn : Functional cross-talk between photo-produced reactive oxygen species, photosynthesis and plant disease defence responses

    Författare :Christine Chi-Chen Chang; Stanislaw Karpinski; Christine Foyer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; reactive oxygen species; Arabidopsis thaliana; signalling work; biotic stress; abiotic stress; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Excess excitation energy, mechanical injury and defence against pathogens, each trigger rapid production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in Arabidopsis thaliana leaves. ROS, such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), are required for the induction of systemic acquired acclimation and may lead to redox changes in photosynthetic electron transport (PET). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Plant pathogen defense: Signalling, resistance and cell death

    Författare :Oskar N. Johansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pseudomonas; cell death; pathogens; plant defense; hypersensitive response; glycolipid; reactive oxygen species; blumeria graminis; erysiphe pisi;

    Sammanfattning : Pathogenic microorganisms are present everywhere in nature and infect both animals and plants. Phytopathogenic microorganisms cause diseases on plants, and are responsible for crop loss amounting in the order billions of dollars annually. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Studies towards late blight control in potato

    Författare :Laith Moushib; Molekylär cellbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oomycetes; plant induced resistance; sustainable agriculture; plant defence activators; plant innate immunity; potato; late blight;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract The oomycete Phytophthora infestans, which causes the devastating late blight disease of potato, is notorious for developing resistance to conventional control strategies (fungicide application and resistance breeding by introgression of R gene). To increase our tool box of disease management strategies available to combat P. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The biology and ecology of Phytophthora infestans: the role of cell wall proteins in development, pathogenicity and potato defence activation

    Författare :Maja Brus-Szkalej; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Phytophthora infestans was one of the first eukaryotic microbes to be implicated as the causal agent of a plant disease. Despite a relentless research effort over the last 150 years, it remains one of the most economically important phytopathogens today. LÄS MER
