16. Methods in pharmacoepidemiology : four studies, four settings
Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, four studies using four different settings and designs are presented in which associations between pharmacological treatments and possible adverse drug reactions are investigated; some methodological considerations identified in them are discussed. In a population-based case-control study, using information from telephone interviews, the association between use of acid-suppressing drugs and the development of acute pancreatitis was investigated. 17. From bedside to bench and back : future options for antiretroviral drugs in non-B HIV-1 subtypes
Sammanfattning : HIV-1 drug resistance remains a burden in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). Regardless of the advances in antiretroviral (ARV) therapy, there is an increase in the trend of acquired and pre-treatment drug resistance mutations (DRM) in LMIC affected by diverse HIV-1 subtypes. 18. High-resolution measurement of the ¹⁶O(γ,pn) reaction
Sammanfattning : The 16O(gamma,pn) reaction has been measured with a resolution high enough to resolve individual low-lying states in the residual 14N nucleus. The relative population of the states provides detailed information about the quantum numbers of the proton-neutron pairs on which photons are absorbed. LÄS MER
19. Design, Construction and Evaluation of a StackedPolyphase Bridges Converter for Integrated ElectricDrive Systems in Automotive ApplicationsMOJGAN NIKOUIEDoctoral ThesisStockholm, Sweden
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a new concept for integration of the electricdrive system, specifically for electric and hybrid electric vehicle applications. The topology introduces an integration between the so-calledstacked polyphase bridges (SPB) converter and fractional-slot concentratedpermanent-magnet synchronous machine. 20. Using de novo design proteins to explore tyrosine radicals and cation-π interactions
Sammanfattning : Redox cofactors and amino-acid free radicals play important roles in biology. Although many of the same cofactors and amino acids that form these radicals are found across a broad range of biological systems, identical cofactors can have different reduction potentials. The local environment plays a role in defining these redox potentials. LÄS MER
