11. Plasma membrane order; the role of cholesterol and links to actin filaments
Sammanfattning : The connection between T cell activation, plasma membrane order and actin filament dynamics was the main focus of this study. Laurdan and di-4-ANEPPDHQ, membrane order sensing probes, were shown to report only on lipid packing rather than being influenced by the presence of membrane-inserted peptides justifying their use in membrane order studies. 13. Dynamic skull reshaping for sagittal craniosynostosis
Sammanfattning : Objectives: The present investigation was aimed at expanding the knowledge base regarding the skull morphology in sagittal craniosynostosis and at assessing the safety and efficacy of two dynamic cranioplasty procedures, the modified pi-plasty procedure and the spring-mediated cranioplasty. Methods: The patient population consisted of children with non-syndromic sagittal craniosynostosis. LÄS MER
14. Crystallographic studies on porphyrin metallation by ferrochelatase
Sammanfattning : Ferrochelatase catalyses the terminal step in heme biosynthesis by inserting a ferrous ion into protoporphyrin IX. The reaction mechanism has in this thesis been studied by mainly crystallographic methods. LÄS MER
15. Programming of coarse-grained reconfigurable architectures
Sammanfattning : Coarse-grained reconfigurable architectures, which offer massive parallelism coupled with the capability of undergoing run-time reconfiguration, are gaining attention in order to meet not only the increased computational demands of high-performance embedded systems, but also to fulfill the need of adaptability to functional requirements of the application. This thesis focuses on the programming aspects of such coarse-grained reconfigurable computing devices, including the relevant computation models that are capable of exposing different kinds of parallelism inherent in the application and the ability of these models to capture the adaptability requirements of the application.
