  1. 1. Risk-Adjustment for Swedish In-Hospital Trauma Mortality using International Classification of disease Injury Severity Score (ICISS) : issues with description and methods

    Författare :Robert Larsen; Folke Sjöberg; Ingrid Steinvall; Mats Fredrikson; Sten M. Walther; Søreide Eldar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : IntroductionDifferent methods have been used to describe the epidemiology of trauma with varying results. Crude mortality outcome data differ significantly from risk-adjusted information. A previous standard method for risk-adjustment in trauma was the Injury Severity Score (ISS), although it has several shortcomings. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Surgically Treated Intracerebral Haemorrhage : Pathophysiology and Clinical Aspects

    Författare :Lovisa Tobieson; Niklas Marklund; Bijar Ghafouri; Sandro Rossitti; Peter Zsigmond; Jan Hillman; Mikael Svensson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Mortality and morbidity of intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) is excessively high, and the case fatality rate has not improved in the last decades. Although surgery for ICH can be life-saving, no positive effect on functional outcome has been found in large cohorts of ICH patients. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On evolution of intracranial changes after severe traumatic brain injury and its impact on clinical outcome

    Författare :Lukas Bobinski; Lars-Owe Koskinen; Magnus Olivecrona; Peter Lindvall; Marklund Niklas; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Severe traumatic brain injury; ICP targeted therapy; ICP; decompressive craniectomy; S100B; NSE; cranioplasty; neurokirurgi; Neurosurgery;

    Sammanfattning : Severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) is a cause of death and disability worldwide and requires treatment at specialized neuro-intensive care units (NICU) with a multimodal monitoring approach. The CT scan imaging supports the monitoring and diagnostics. The level of S100B and neuron specific enolase (NSE) reflects the severity of the injury. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Análisis dinámico de un eje de ferrocarril con capacidad de cambio de ancho automático

    Författare :Carlos Casanueva; José Germán Giménez; Asier Alonso; Javier Gil Sevillano; Jordi Vinolas; Jesús M. Busturia; Xabier Pérez; Eduardo Gómez; University of Navarra CEIT and Tecnun; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; variable gauge wheelset; railway dynamics; ; eje de ancho variable; dinámica ferroviaria; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : El objetivo de la presente tesis es la mejora de los actuales ejes de ancho variable para su circulación por vías de alta velocidad (AV) a velocidades de hasta 300km/h. En la actualidad los vehículos con ejes de ancho variable no sobrepasan los 250km/h de velocidad de servicio en vías de AV, lo que supone un claro desaprovechamiento de recursos y dificultades de gestión del tráfico para el gestor de la infraestructura a causa de las distintas velocidades punta de los diferentes trenes. 5. 5. Residual stresses, fatigue and deformation in cast iron

    Författare :Mattias Lundberg; Johan Moverare; Ru Lin Peng; Taina Ahmad; Daniel Bäckström; Maqsood Ahmad; Sten Johansson; Mattias Calmunger; Peter Hedström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The complex geometry of cylinder heads in heavy-duty diesel engines makes grey iron or compact graphite iron a preferred material choice due to its price, castability, thermal conductivity and damping capacity. Today’s strict emission laws have increased the demands on engine performance and engine efficiency. LÄS MER
