6. Image-based multi-omics data integration : Exploring whole-body PET/MRI, -omics data and body composition
Sammanfattning : Advanced body composition analysis with whole-body imaging could uncover novel associations between regional tissue composition and metabolic disease. Imiomics is an automated image analysis framework that enables large-scale integration of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data and orthogonal technologies such as metabolomics and genomics for the detailed study of body composition. 7. Quantitative cardiac 15O-water PET : Assessment of left-ventricular function, remodeling, and impact of patient motion
Sammanfattning : International guidelines advocate the use of noninvasive cardiac imaging as the initial diagnostic test for coronary artery disease, the global leading cause of death according to the world health organization. Within the wide spectrum of cardiac imaging, 15O-water PET is the gold standard for noninvasive quantification of myocardial blood flow (MBF). LÄS MER
8. Computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
Sammanfattning : Certain aspects of the use of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) were evaluated in patients with non-Hodgkin'slymphoma (NHL) with the aim of improving the management of these patients.Subjective evaluation of the tumor pattern on CT images, and quantification of tracer uptake using 11C methionine (11C Met) and [18F] fluorodeoxyglucose (18FDG) PET in patients with NHL, were performed to determine their relations to malignancy grade. 9. Positron Emission Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Techniques in Diabetes
Sammanfattning : In order to further advance the field of diabetes research there is a great need for establishing validated non-invasive quantitative techniques to study the pancreas and other tissues of importance for blood glucose regulation. The general aim of this thesis was to explore magnetic resonance techniques and positron emission tomography as such tools. LÄS MER
10. Dopamine and the affective-cognitive gradient in the human striatum studied with multimodal brain imaging
Sammanfattning : Both dopamine and the dopamine rich brain area, striatum, have been linked to behaviors related to incentives, motor action, and associative processing. Most of the cortex sends projections to the striatum, these connections have been described as a gradient organization representing a repertoire of functional behaviors. LÄS MER
