21. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging
Sammanfattning : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 22. Theranostics in Neuroendocrine Tumors : Somatostatin Receptor Imaging and Therapy
Sammanfattning : Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are characterized by cellular overexpression of somatostatin receptors (SSTR), which allows for the use of radiolabeled somatostatin analogs (SSA) for both imaging and therapy. Because NETs often are diagnosed at a metastatic stage, curative surgery is not possible. LÄS MER
23. Leukocyte scintigraphy, SPECT/CT and PET/CT in prosthetic joint infection
Sammanfattning : Background: A known complication of arthroplasty is prosthetic joint infection (PJI). It can be challenging to diagnose and treat PJI due to the formation of a biofilm protecting the bacteria in chronic infections from the innate immune system and antibiotics. LÄS MER
24. Aortic valve imaging - Towards new standards in prosthetic valve endocarditis
Sammanfattning : Background: Aortic prosthetic valve endocarditis (PVE) is a disease with high mortality, and diagnosis is difficult. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) has been the mainstay imaging modality in the diagnostic workup, but TEE has diagnostic shortcomings. Thus, new imaging methods might improve the diagnostic workup of PVE. LÄS MER
25. Visualization of Peripheral Pain Generating Processes and Inflammation in Musculoskeletal Tissue using [11C]-D-deprenyl PET
Sammanfattning : An objective visualization and quantification of pain-generating processes in the periphery would alter pain diagnosis and represent an important paradigm shift in pain research. Positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand [11C]-D-deprenyl has shown an elevated uptake in painful inflammatory arthritis and whiplash-associated disorder. LÄS MER
