21. Local and global contaminants in Swedish waters : studies on PCBs, DDTs, 4,5,6-trichloroguaiacol and their transformation products in fish and sediments
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on studies on the environmental fate and methodological improvements for determination of the global contaminants, PCBs and DDTs, and locally discharged phenolics, e.g. 4,5,6-trichloroguaiacol (4,5,6-TCG), and their transformation products. LÄS MER
22. Extraction of PCBs and PCDD/Fs from Food and Feed Matrices Using Pressurised Liquid Extraction (PLE)
Sammanfattning : Since the Belgian dioxin crisis in 1999 there has been a great demand for fast, cheap and reliable methods to analyse food and feed samples. Traditional methods use large amounts of solvent for the extraction, are time demanding and laborious, but new and more sophisticated methods have been developed in recent years. LÄS MER
23. Some Aspects of Advanced Technologies and Signal Integrity Issues in High Frequency PCBs, with Emphasis on Planar Transmission Lines and RF/Microwave Filters
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is placed on high frequency PCB signal Integrity Is-sues and RF/Microwave filters using EBG structures. From the signal Integrity aspect, two topics were mainly discussed. LÄS MER
24. Mechanistical studies on gap junctions and their role in tumour promotion : structure-activity relationships of polychlorinated biphelyls
Sammanfattning : Chemically induced carcinogenesis is a multi-stage process that can be divided into at least three major stages, initiation, promotion and progression. The promotion stage involves clonal expansion of genetically altered cells (i.e. initiated cells). LÄS MER
25. Polychlorinated biphenyls and their metabolites in human blood : Method development, identification and quantification
Sammanfattning : PCBs are well known environmental pollutants. They are also precursors to metabolites, as the hydroxy-PCBs and the methylsulfonyl-PCBs. This thesis presents a validated methodology for analysis of PCB metabolites and a structural identification of 38 hydroxy-PCBs in human blood. LÄS MER
