6. Gnutella Network Traffic : Measurements and Characteristics
Sammanfattning : Wide availability of computing resources at the edge of the network has lead to the appearance of new services based on peer-to-peer architectures. In a peer-to-peer network nodes have the capability to act both as client and server. LÄS MER
7. Kademlia on the Open Internet : How to Achieve Sub-Second Lookups in a Multimillion-Node DHT Overlay
Sammanfattning : Distributed hash tables (DHTs) have gained much attention from the research community in the last years. Formal analysis and evaluations on simulators and small-scale deployments have shown good scalability and performance. LÄS MER
8. How to Regulate Information and Communications Technology? : A Jurisprudential Inquiry into Legislative and Regulatory Techniques
Sammanfattning : ICT transformations digitalisation, computerisation and distributed networks have enabled emergence of new goods, services and applications that have changed the way behaviours are conducted. Moreover, ICT goods have been transformed into services, blurring established legal categories. LÄS MER
9. Live Streaming in P2P and Hybrid P2P-Cloud Environments for the Open Internet
Sammanfattning : Peer-to-Peer (P2P) live media streaming is an emerging technology that reduces the barrier to stream live events over the Internet. However, providing a high quality media stream using P2P overlay networks is challenging and gives raise to a number of issues: (i) how to guarantee quality of the service (QoS) in the presence of dynamism, (ii) how to incentivize nodes to participate in media distribution, (iii) how to avoid bottlenecks in the overlay, and (iv) how to deal with nodes that reside behind Network Address Translators gateways (NATs). 10. Enhancing P2P Systems over Wireless Mesh Networks
Sammanfattning : Due to its ability to deliver scalable and fault-tolerant solutions, applications based on the peer-to-peer (P2P) paradigm are used by millions of users on the internet. Recently, wireless mesh networks (WMNs) have attracted a lot of interest from both academia and industry, because of their potential to provide flexible and alternative broadband wireless internet connectivity.
