Sammanfattning : The purpose of the thesis is to investigate how sound creates distinct, cognitive and spatial entities, sound spaces, and to find out how sound spaces constitute forms of human interaction. Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to explore how pensionerhood is formed through music-making. What are the building blocks of pensionerhood in musical contexts, and which values are included and excluded? In the study pensionerhood is defined in terms of cultural position, the term forming is used to define conditioning, limiting and enabling forces and the term music-making denotes a wide set of activities from arranging venues to performance. 5. Världsarvets villkor : Intressen, förhandlingar och bruk i internationell politik
Sammanfattning : This thesis depicts the UNESCO World Heritage Convention (1972), an international law for the protection of natural and cultural heritage sites, as an example of the multiple practices within international policy making. By analysing its transnational constitution, I show how the Convention is constructed in and between locales through bureaucratic and diplomatic procedures characterised by intersecting political and economic interests.
