    Sammanfattning : Essay I studies the impact on actual hours worked of a 5 % working time reduction for one class of shift workers in Sweden using individual level panel data from firms’ payroll records during the sec-ond quarter each year. The main result is that actual hours only decreased by approximately 35 % of the reduction in standard hours. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Essay I, co-authored with Bertil Holmlund and Oskar Nordström Skans, offers evidence on how delayed transitions to higher education (“gap years”) affect subsequent earnings and lifetime earnings. We exploit rich Swedish register data and find that postponement of higher education is associated with a persistent and non-trivial earnings penalty. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Essay I: This paper studies the importance of market work during high school for graduates' school-to-work transition and career. Relying on Swedish linked employer-employee data, I show that such work provides students with an important job-search channel that some graduates are deprived of due to establishment closures that occur just prior to graduation and labor market entry.
