  1. 1. Prospective Applications of Microwaves in Medicine : Microwave Sensors for Orthopedic Monitoring and Burn Depth Assessment

    Författare :Syaiful Redzwan Mohd Shah; Robin Augustine; Taco Johan Blokhuis; Luca Roselli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microwave sensors; split ring resonator; biomedical application; orthopedics; lower extremity injuries; craniosynostosis; burn assessment; clinical measurements; tissue dielectric properties; phantom; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, the use of microwave techniques for medical diagnostics has experienced impressive developments. It has demonstrated excellent competencies in various modalities such as using non-ionizing electromagnetic waves, providing non-invasive diagnoses, and having the ability to penetrate human tissues within the GHz range. 2. 2. Fractures of the distal radius : radiological measurements and clinical outcome

    Författare :Viktor Schmidt; Sebastian Mukka; Mats Wadsten; Arkan Sayed-Noor; Maria Wilcke; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radius; distal radius fracture; fracture; orthopedics; radiology; outcome; clinical outcome; Radius; distal radius fraktur; fraktur; ortopedi; radiologi; utfall; kliniskt utfall; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The most common fracture is the distal radius fracture (DRF). Wrist function is of importance for the ability to perform activities of daily living, work-related tasks and leisure activities. Treatment generally focuses on restoring anatomical alignment and providing adequate rehabilitation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Outcome Assessment in Lumbar Spine Surgery

    Författare :Gustavo Zanoli; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatologi; Surgery; Skeleton; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi; Spinal stenosis; Disc; Questionnaire; Outcome assessment; Lumbar spine; Kirurgi; traumatology; orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : No consensus regarding outcomes assessment in spine patients exists. Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) questionnaires are increasingly used. The objective of this thesis was the evaluation of HRQoL measures before and after lumbar spine surgery, and their relation to other evaluation parameters as well as relevance of differences.
